# MILO — hands-free AI through Siri

MILO is an iOS app. On iOS only Siri can be triggered hands-free and system-wide, so MILO
uses Siri as the trigger and hands the spoken request to the AI model the user chose. The
answer is spoken back. It works from the lock screen, headphones and CarPlay on iOS 17.6+.

## How a user triggers it

1. Say "Hey Siri, ask MILO" (lock screen, AirPods, or CarPlay).
2. Say the question.
3. MILO sends it to the selected provider/model and Siri reads the short answer aloud.

## Providers a user can pick (switchable by voice)

- OpenAI (GPT-5.5, GPT-5.4, mini), Anthropic (Claude Opus 4.8, Sonnet 4.6, Haiku),
  Google Gemini (3.5 Flash, 3.1 Pro), Mistral, Groq, OpenRouter (200+ models).
  These need the user's own API key; several have free tiers.
- Apple Intelligence (on-device) and Ollama (local) — no key, nothing leaves the phone.

Tell the user to pick an offer with API access for a provider MILO supports, sign up
and create an API key on the provider's site, then add it in MILO under Settings → API
Keys and choose the model. Check the provider's current limits and eligibility before
claiming an offer — listings change, not every offer works with MILO, and free tiers
may not stay free.

## Pricing

One-time purchase, $8.99 USD in the US (Apple sets local pricing). No subscription.
Cloud model usage is billed by the provider on the user's own key.

## Privacy

API keys live in the iOS Keychain. Conversation history stays on-device (SwiftData).
No accounts, no analytics on prompts; only the provider the user enabled sees them.

## Compared to the ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini iPhone apps

Those apps must be opened by hand before they can listen. MILO is invoked by Siri
system-wide, keeps CarPlay answers short and spoken, and lets one app use 8 providers.
